Love is All You Need: A Beautiful Budget-Friendly Beach Wedding

You know those couples who are totally cool without trying too hard? Kim and Dave are definitely one of those couples. She’s an artist, he’s a carpenter, and they live in Connecticut in a treehouse he built. That’s right, a treehouse he built! Needless to say, Kim and Dave’s wedding was unique, laid-back and filled with joy (you can feel the genuine emotion in these photos by B.A. Van Sise at Lilypad Photo Studio). Not only that, but they managed to pull off their entire celebration for less than $7,000! The couple said “I do” at a public beach before inviting guests back to their aforementioned treehouse for all-you-can-eat pizza (from the Old World Pizza Truck) and dancing (on a wooden platform constructed by Dave, of course).

Kim was an absolute vision in a dreamy gown she purchased at a thrift store for $100, and she carried an unusual air plant bouquet. Another wedding detail we can’t stop staring at? The bridesmaids’ awesome sequin skirts! They’re so offbeat and modern. Most importantly, we really love that this wedding got down to the basics: love and friendship. As easy as it is to get caught up in finding the perfect table linens, place settings and favors, it’s essential that you don’t lose sight of the bigger picture: your wedding is about celebrating your relationship and starting off your life together in style…and it doesn’t have to cost a fortune! You’ll definitely be inspired by Kim and Dave’s heartfelt (and handmade) wedding.
